UCLA’s Office of Research Administration (ORA) provides operational infrastructure, regulatory compliance oversight and guidance, financial management and reporting, and administrative services in support of the UCLA research program and the faculty, staff and students who are part of the campus research community.

ORA is led by Associate Vice Chancellor for Research Administration Marcia Smith, reporting to Vice Chancellor for Research Roger Wakimoto. ORA organizational units include: Contract and Grant Administration (OCGA), Extramural Fund Management (EFM), Human Research Protection Program (OHRPP), Research Safety and Animal Welfare Administration (RSAWA), Research Information Systems (ORIS), Research Data Management (ORDM), and Business and Financial Services (OBFS).

Video: NIH Story

The National Institutes of Health has produced a new video that captures the spirit, mission, community, and the lifesaving work at NIH and the more than 2,500 auniversities, medical schools, and other research institutions in every state and around the world. This video tells the story of NIH and our community, and represents the thousands of people who dedicate their lives to improving health and fighting disease, and operating the biomedical research enterprise that enables this important work.
