Extramural Fund Management (EFM) provides financial management support of sponsored project funds for the UCLA research community. This includes: financial reporting, invoicing, cash management, accounts receivable management, financial compliance oversight (effort reporting, cost transfers, unallowable expenses), and audit support. Statistics for Fiscal Year ended June 30, 2016


Statistics for fiscal year 2015-2016 relating to research expenditures, financial deliverables, and payments collected for sponsored projects are as follows:

Total research expenditure incurred for sponsored projects were $918 million. 62.8% of total expenditure were for Federally sponsored projects followed by Foundations, Charities & Non-Profit projects. 




Financial deliverables represent invoices and financial reports of which EFM satisfied a total of 12,937 last year. EFM collected $976 million in payments from sponsors. 9,512 payments were received in the form of check, wire, or ACH.
